We left late yesterday morning because we couldn't fit my sister's bike in with ours so had it not all the way in and drove to Rick's work so he could show us how to do the quick release on the front tire. Ha! I was right you do have to unhook the front brakes! Finally on the road, Sherie and I in the front and Steph stuffed in the back jump seat. When we reloaded we took all the front tires off and put all the bikes in upside down and put them in. Worked much better than the first time!
We got there and got all unloaded and rode off onto the trail. We didn't go all the way as Stephanie was coughing so much at one point we left her and rode on a bit but didn't want to leave her by herself. We went as far as behind the metal buildings that are off the old main road. The trail went on to somewhere by the dam itself. We will do it again and go all the way even if we park our bikes and walk the rest of the way. It looked like the hills got a bit steep and we already walked our bikes on a couple of hills.
The tunnels are fun and it was basically an easy ride and we rode a bit over five miles. We stopped and took pictures on the way back. It was still cold and most of the ride was in the shade and I wished I had my gloves a couple of times. My wrist hurt later in the afternoon from the bumpiness. Iced it and Ibuprofen when I got home.
The rest of the afternoon we hit up 4-5 thrift shops, ate at Cafe Rio, had Chocolate Cheesecake custard, ran into Sam's quick for the Guitar Hero keyboard, went into Joann's last and came home. I bought another bike helmet for me and embarrased Stephanie by wearing it through the store. She can have my old one.
Okay, time to get ready for work!
