I have 364 days left to work, Yay!
We did our hike, and had a great time. The first day we drove to Williams and stayed at Dog Town. Steve & Rick fished and Sherie and I explored around the lake, spent the night. The next day we drove to Fossil Springs Trailhead. It is a few miles from Strawberry, AZ. We were surprised at how many cars were in the lot. We loaded up and headed down. My hiking boots were not stretched enough and I ended up with moleskin on my foot and a bunion circle for my toe. The last mile down was a killer for Rick & my knees, it was vertical and rocky and down hurts knees. But, we made it and finally got to the camping spot, and wow! take that pack off and you have no legs left it is like air and absolutely nothing there. So, got there and had a big blister on my small toe, not good, took off boots and put on the Fila Toe Shoes. Yep, wore them the rest of the time. It is beautiful there, and we had a good time there and visited with everone around us. I wore my Fila's out the next day and coming out was much easier than going in but where I had the bandage on my heel, dirt stuck and I ended up with moleskin on my heel because of the dirt rubbing. What's one more blister? :) So, third night we went to the little campground next to Blue Ridge Resevour, where we just rested and did absolutely nothing but plan on making a trip back there and camping and canoeing the resevour, it is really beautiful there.
Got home late Monday and seriously started on the bedroom... Emptied out the master suite into the rest of the house. Repainted bedroom and closet while Steve repaired the toilet plumbing and redid the flooring in the bathroom. I then painted the bathroom and started in on all the rest. Repainted the two dressers, floor grates, window frame, all the cabinets and cupboard doors in the bathroom. New handles and hinges on most and MANY trips to Home Depot. Yesterday rode Stella and those two lamps that are short with a glass base hopped into my cart and then I had to find something to get them home in. Yep, on a scooter, so bought a clearanced tub and paid, packed, strapped all on and headed home.
We got the carpet in while yesterday morning and we started putting stuff back in the bedroom. Today will be more of the same and before I go back to work on Monday have to dust and clean the rest of the house as it sorely needs it after all the moving stuff around.
My garden is doing better than I expected, I just need to look up and find out why my green beans look stunted the leaves are all curled and the string we bought for them to climb on is breaking and the beans haven't even started climbing yet! Off to water and close this chapter of the book for now...
