Chicken Facts

I am totally fascinated with the chickens.  The first night I had only three, it got dark and they didn't go inside the coop so I put them in one at a time and blocked the door so they couldn't get out.  The second night they all went in and for several days huddled in the corner of the coop on the ground. 
Then, I read that to get them to use the roost to wait until it got dark and to place each one on the roost.  They stayed, that was Tuesday night.  Amazing.  I checked a little later and one had gone up one rung and a couple had turned to face the opposite way but they were still there.  Last night I went out to check after it was dark and they were all on the roost.
Now, if only I could get them to use the automatic waterer! :)
