Christmas is over and done. Some of the teddy bears were loved, some were not. Too much technology these days. I need to start thinking about the three that people wanted me to make for them now, but not today. I'm on my last of 3 days off. I have finished the two dog quilt tops and made a pink quilt top from pink scraps for that scrappy look. A friend asked me, are you going to design it? Will the colors go together? Pink is pink, and should all go good as far as I'm concerned. I put piano keys in pink on the top and bottom so it will fit the baby quilt batting. The dog tops are square and bigger than the baby sized batting so will add a bit to them, no biggie, I have a bunch of leftover pieces of batting. I also finished my Meet Me in Paris quilt and have the backing here but need to add to the sides of it so it is ready to quilt, too. Now, on with the photos...1) You make strips in 2-1/2 " widths and make 12-1/2" blocks.
2) You then put two blocks face to face with the stripes going opposite ways.
3) Then you sew all around the edges with them face to face.
4) Lastly, you cut each way diagonally and viola! You have blocks for this, I then cut them to 8" square and put the smaller stripes towards the middle and made four into a big block. I saw this on UTube, found my link.
Next for the dog tops, I posted them before but just bits & pieces. The tops are now done. I ran out of the red/paw print I was using in the sashing so used something else to finish. Waste not, want not...

close up of the scrappy and then full view.
Then the second one with sashing all done with the red/black paw print and just the borders with the plaid print.
