I've been still taking it easy and basically doing nothing. I've laid down a bit, sat a lot, and watched my hubby finish the baby chicken coop that I wanted to make by myself. Stephanie painted and I watched. I couldn't do any twisting and standing for too long hurt the inside of my leg so I watch. I'm not used to that at all. I will get better soon!
The bottom is finished, the chicken wire is on, had to lower the perch because they sat on the ground the night before. Last night we went out and put them on the perch and they stayed. He left the hole opened and hopefully they will figure out how to use it. There is an opening at one end so we can get in if needed and I plan on making another pen next to it so the opening will go into the pen. We will probably use the dog cage for now since I'm geeky. The whole thing can be moved around fairly easily and eventually when the other girls get used to them they can all use the same run.
Today he is going to put the roofing on, which is also recycled, it used to be the roof on our mobile home. When we had the house roof foamed we had to remove this one and so we had a piece of poly something that was 20'x50' to use elsewhere. He is going to use Contact Cement to put it on the roof. It is very cute if I do say so myself! It is painted with leftover paints from other projects, okay, it is indoor paint, but it is what we had. It is yellow with a pretty blue trim, doors, ramp, and the bottom of the frame.
I plan on making squares out of wood and putting Barn Quilts on both coops, big and little.
