I have had my Silkies for about 3-4 months now and the one time I let them out together my girls ran at the feet out, so I never let them mix again. Last night I thought, what the heck, and let them all out at the same time. The big girls ran at the small ones the small ones squawked and ran and life went on. They all grazed the yard and no one killed anyone. Now I will let them out supervised a bit at a time. I usually let the little ones out for a bit, put them back and then let the big girls out.
On a strange note. I've been watching the little Polish with the crooked beak. I guess it will get worse with age. It was not crooked when I got her/it but it is gradually getting more off. It doesn't seem to be bothering her at all, she still pecks and is growing, now if only I cold get them to use the nipple waterer. I think I'll take out the other one and keep taking them to the nipple. If it is their only water they should get it and I think it would work better for the twisted beak to drink from it.
