School Gardening + more

About 22 of us worked at La Senita yesterday building raised garden beds for the kids.  The Extension office helps with teaching kids about gardening.  We moved many 6x8x16 blocks into two high and six bricks long and two layers high into 16 beds full of dirt and they then installed a watering system to it.  They are trying to teach kids the importance of growing their own food and it is a wonderful idea for kids.  I remember having a garden area in a school in CA when I was a kid, I enjoyed it then as much as I do now.  It was fun and a highlight in my childhood.

About six employees from HD and teachers and the Master Gardeners all were there to help.  It was a very long five hours but with that many people it could have taken longer.  I forgot to take pictures but I'll get some from someone and post them later.

I finished my Meet Me in Paris quilt finally.  I put a scalloped border on it.  It wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be and I might do it again on another quilt.  I've also made two pillow covers for small pillows to match and am planning on making pillow cases out of the extra fabric I have since I always over buy. :)  I also want to make a 2' long tube pillow to match.  I'm going to put it on the bed today and show what it looks like for now and when I get all the rest made I'll post them, too.
