Recycled Can Flower Tutorial

This is my first tutorial.  I saw these flowers on Facebook or Pinterest and made my own.  I decided to show how I did them.  I have used three different sizes of cans.  I have an Arizona Tea can, a Pepsi can, and a Lime A Rita can.  For the small one a Red Bull can also works.  The size is also not the tallness but the cans themselves will fit into each other when you put them together.  I have a photo of front and tops.

The next step is to cut the top off each can.

Next, you cut down each can to the bottom with a pair of scissors being careful not to cut yourself on the can.  I cut them about 1" or so each and some flowers I cut the tips round and some I left pointed as you will see in the end when I show the others I've made.  After cutting the first four petals, look at what you have left and decide if you can make 2 or 3 petals out of what you have left.  Some will have fatter petals some thin, doesn't matter, no flowers are perfect either.  I had to drink the Lime A Rita so I could use the can. :)

This is one petal cut, it doesn't have to be perfect as I said.

All petals cut out.

Next you bend the petals all back as close to the bottom of your cuts.  Also being careful not to cut yourself.  I'm showing the big one and then the others all together now.

All stacked together.  See?  They fit nicely.  Now you have to figure out what colors you are going to paint them.

A little bit of spray paint and then a little more.  I played with this one and I think it turned out pretty cool.  I sprayed each set of petals a different color, then sprayed each tip with yellow and the center of the small can with the yellow also.

Then stack them together and you can then screw them to a wood fence or???

More I made the other day, as you can see I used two petals on some and three petals on one other.  You can use what ever you have, it isn't an exact science.

Put on my fence in my back yard along my patio.

I hope you enjoyed this, I had fun doing it.  They are fun and easy, you can get as creative as you want and make them almost any color combination.  I was afraid the ones I just chose would look terrible but it turned out pretty good.
