I got FIVE eggs yesterday! Things are picking up around here! It's been two, one day surprise and get four. But yesterday was good. Molting must be about done, yay!
I went out last night to check on the girls and close their pop door so they wouldn't have too much of a breeze in our 17 degree weather and make sure Sassy was inside. She tries to sleep on the ladder outside a couple nights a week but I don't let her. I looked through windows and saw that Diller has a naked back. Hmmm, someone must be pulling feathers from her. Today will bring a chicken apron to cover that spot. Too bad I didn't remember it sooner :) I think I'll put one on Sylvie because she's still thin on feathers and it should help keep her warm. I really wish I could make one of those sweaters, will have to look into it. :) Aha! I found a pattern for a sweater out of fleece, guess what I'll be doing today along with finishing sewing binding onto a quilt, decorating for Christmas outside, and more!

Tomorrow we are visiting my friend Sandy and I will take pictures of her coop. She just made her chickens an Arizona room. Us Rednecks in AZ call a room with a view that stays warm an Arizona Room. She made it out of clear corrugated panels so they would have a warm place out of the wind. I kind of did that. I have pieces of plywood on two sides to block the wind, one section has the clear so the lawn sprinkler doesn't hit those in the coop, and we put a pile of leaves in yesterday.
Also tomorrow, my friend Debbie has two bales of straw for me to pick up. They do a fall scene in their front yard every year and she's donating the bales of hay to me for my chickens. I think I'll donate an 18 pack to her and do a trade!
