Comments from Chickens

Sylvie's comments:  I used to be number one but when I wasn't looking Hazel took over.  Now I'm building inspector.  When mom and dad made our coop bigger I checked it out from all angles.  I went in and out inspecting and all around.  I even tried to get up and look in the windows but I just couldn't make it. 
Hazel's comments:  Yep, I took over and now I'm BOSS, and loving it.  I keep everyone in check in our little abode.  I must say, it gets better all the time!
Cleo's comments: I'm a pretty mellow girl and I'm not telling how my leg band got off.  That would be way too easy on Mom.  She watched on the video cam when Sylvie lost hers.  Somehow we got caught up together and my toe was caught in hers and her band came off.  Mom had a heck of a time catching her to put it back on.
Cecile's comments:  I'm an easy girl to get along with but ever since my molt and Mom made me wear that embarrassing sweater I avoid Mom as much as I can.  I see her coming and I run.  I don't care if it did have the Arizona Diamondback logo on it.  I'm slowly getting over it and I've realized it did keep me warmer.
Vera's comments:  I tag along with the girls everywhere they go.  I'm pretty easy going and I love treats from Mom.
Ruby's comments:  I'm pretty much a go off and enjoy myself girl, but when mom goes in and moves everything inside the coop and fluffs up the hay I'm not happy!  I make as much noise as I can when she's done.  But I gotta admit, I love the straw compared to the wood pellets.  It is much better on my feet!
Miss Daisy's comments:  I am the bitch from hell, don't get near me or I'll give you a peck.  Just ask Mom.  Every time she sticks her hand down I give her a bite.  She'll catch me unawares and hold me and stroke me.  Secretly I like it but I shake and fluff up to get her cooties off me every time she does it.  I'm named after an old white lady?  Who the heck is this lady from the movie Driving Miss Daisy anyway?
Buffy's comments:  She named me after a vampire killer, wonder why she did that?  I'm the most mellow girl around and follow Mom everywhere!  I follow so close that Mom stepped on one of my toes and it wasn't until I squawked and flapped my wings that she noticed she was on my toe! 
Lucy's comments:  I make Mom happy with my beautiful dark brown eggs.  I love Mom, she gives me treats and I follow along with Lucy and Diller all over where ever mom is, you can find me.
Racer's comments:  Racer, what a name they gave me.  But then when I was young and they opened the top of my cage I would just zip back and forth and they couldn't catch me.  One of the GD's named me.  I haven't laid any eggs yet, either, I'll do it when I'm darn good and ready to slow down.
Diller'comments:  I am the Mom to the above four, well, not in a real sense but I am a couple of weeks older and I watch over them.  I hate being alone and I make a racket until someone comes to find me.  I'm not laying yet, either, but when I do you can bet Mom will know with her spy cam.  I know Mom loves me because when those fat black and white girls were ripping the feathers off my back she made me this nice apron to cover.  By the time Mom finally took it off my feathers were back and those B&W girls forgot about picking on me.
Sassy's comments:  Hmmpt!  Make me last, why don't you?  Okay, I'm always last.  Heck, they think I can't see?  I can see just as good as those fat black and white girls can.  I torture Mom by making her chase me every night to put me in the coop, but lately I've been going in like the other girls.  She took away that nice ladder out in the coop that I tried to sleep on, too.  Now I have to go inside with all the others.
