Her head feathers are coming in nicely though.

Odd Sock/ or Chicken
My Gold Laced Polish, Diller, is having a bad time. First the other mean girls ripped out all the feathers on top of her head that make her a Polish wonder but now they have ripped out all the feathers at her tail. Last night she was bleeding and so she got her apron put back on. She's not happy about it. I need to check the fit because I think last time I ran it across her belly. But, it's still on this morning so all is well. If they can't see the bloody spot they can't pick on it, right? I ended up taking off the apron yesterday and I let her run around in the yard by herself so the fresh blood wouldn't be apparent. I'll probably let her out alone again today. The apron isn't fitting right this year, it worked last year. I think I need to check the fit. She's pretty good about it but I need to design a sweater that is longer in the back so it covers. This one didn't quite go all the way down to cover.

I would take her out of the flock for a week or so and give those pin feathers a chance to heal and emerge fully. Pin feathers are painful and the saddle rubbing on them has got to be excruciating. Poor girl. It's hard to be fancy! :)
