Spring was officially here a couple of weeks ago. It actually hit 91 here for about 2 days and then it cooled back down and we've had some rain. When it warmed up, I needed to dunk my chickens in Permethryn but it got cold again so they are on hold. I have dusted them and dusted them and I give up on that for the mites. We are now waiting for a warm day to come back so we can do that. I don't want them to freeze when they are drying.
I started shaving the goats and only got the tops of their bodies which is a good thing because it got cold again, it was 39 degrees last night. I'm glad I didn't finish shaving them
I'm also going to have to make an unscheduled trip back to my breeder. My Dakota is getting horn nubs. He was disbudded at a couple of weeks but they are popping up. The goat list I'm on they say it is too late, or one person does. I don't want scurs or horns so I guess we'll drive back to Phx. to have her do it again. The weather being cool is a good thing for that. He also has a sore on his side where I gave him his CD/T shot. It was a lump and then opened up. It looks better and is all scabbed over now so he's okay.
