For a week we have been fighting sparrows in the pen. We first bought bird netting and covered all the sides of the run. That didn't work. We have taken to sitting by in camo to watch and see where they are going in. I have vents in the top of the coop that I rolled chicken wire and filled the gap, yesterday we spent another $65 and put a corrugated tin roof on the original run and the top of the addition is now covered with shade cloth. They cannot get in the top anywhere. We put a piece of plywood up to fill the gap over the door.
Steve sat out there this morning to watch and found they were lifting a piece of the netting and going in. He fixed it. He thought he had it totally fixes when he came in late this afternoon but when I went out to give them their evening scratch, there were birds in there. I swear @#%&* I just want to go inside with a tennis racket and kill them. No wonder my feed is disappearing!
