And then were SIX

The time has come to rehome some chickens.  My original plan was to keep them for five years and then rehome.  Four years is more feasible since the original six Barred Rocks are not laying so well.  I am not starving so I won't eat my chickens and I'm sure they are tough old gals, but I'll find a home whom wants them.  I have six assorted left.  I have one, my Lucy, whom is a Red Star who will stay with me until she dies.  She is sweet, gets on my lap.  She is three.
I posted them on Craig's List and three people responded but I gave them to the last as she wrote me the nicest note and said she had cages to haul them with.
My friend, Sandy, has a chicken sitting on eggs and I'll restock with her hatchlings.  Not as soon as hatched, I want to wait until they are old enough to tell her from him.  I do not want a rooster. :)
