Jewelry Racks

I have had an idea in my head to make jewelry racks out of a piece of driftwood that I picked up in Oregon this summer and the second one from a branch I hauled home.  I finally got around to doing them today.  I cut out the ovals (which are easy to draw in your Paint program on the computer) and I cut them out with the band saw.  My hubby rounded the edges over for me for me and I drilled and installed the small cup hooks for necklaces.
The driftwood piece I varnished and I kept the bottom piece off and put it on the oval and screwed and glued it down.  The little piece in the side could be used for bracelets.

I have had this piece of wood for years, it used to be much bigger.  I hauled it home in a cement tub someone was using it for a parrot.  I used it for yard art for several years but the rest of the planter fell apart and I kept this section.  I randomly put cup hooks to hold jewelry.  I stained this one gray, the tree section was already dark so it looks awesome now.  I had these two little pottery bowls that I threw when I took a pottery class that I glued to the base to hold misc. jewelry or whatever.  (I sucked at bowls and I couldn't get them any bigger!)
