Friday afternoon Molly started shaking her head and so we took a look. One ear had something different than the other and we decided it was a tick. I called the vet who had me take dish soap on a Q-tip and rotate counter clockwise and said it would come out. It did. We thought we were through.
But... of course, after vets are closed she's still shaking her head and scratching and crying some. I researched, one vet here is open on the weekend so I was there when they opened. There was one more in the first ear and three more in the other ear. What a nightmare. She said she cleaned up both ears and put antibiotic in her ear.
I looked it up yesterday. Not an antibiotic, it was a bug killer. So, I called. Need to have her checked in two weeks to make sure there were no eggs hatching? What? My nightmare is not over? I thought when they got them all out, we were done. And check all your other animals. I'm thinking, she's been sleeping with us for the last 3 weeks... I went today and got ear cleaner and cleaned my cat, Yoda's, ears and had a look. She's on him the most, literally, and I'm hoping we don't have a re-infestation. It's just as bad as lice in school.
