Fall is officially here

Except it is still warm here in the daytime.  It's still 90s.  I cleaned up the garden the last couple of days.  My pumpkin vine was all over and had only two pumpkins almost done on them so ripped them out and the melons and butternut squash were mostly done, too.  I picked everything and ripped out the vines.  Then I made new trenches so the water would only go to what was left.  I have one out of control tomato that is dead inside the cage but hanging over the outside about 4' and is now laying on it's side.  It still has a ton of little grape tomatoes on it so have to keep it.  My pole beans are this big mass and I don't see any green beans but I want to see if they do have some.

I also filled in a small area with flagstone under my park bench.  It is along the house next to a flower bed.  It is old and rickety so can't use it for seating so it holds an old wooden coke carrier that is full of hens & chicks.  Now I still need to figure out where to stack the flagstone now since the chicken tv area by the fence is where the stack was and it can't go back there.  We also have a pile of wood that needs cut up.  I don't know if I want Steve to do it as he just tried to cut a finger off on the table saw.  Luckily it was "almost" stopped and only put a few nicks in his index finger while he was making me a potato & onion box.  While building the chicken coop he put the drill bit all the way through the same finger.  I need to stock up on bandaids! :)

My best day this week was Sunday, which was my birthday.  I was on break when my cell phone rang.  It was my grandson from England calling to with me Happy Birthday.  I sat in the breakroom twice as long as I was supposed to but it's not very often I get to talk to him so I talked to him for a while.  Totally made my day, I grinned all afternoon!
