Bumblefoot?

So, my friend Sandy introduced me to Bumblefoot.  Mind you, I have read several books on chickens and wasn't prepared for this at all.  I'd never heard of it until she told me she has it in her chickens feet and sent me to YouTube to watch the video on surgery.  Surgery???  So, I go out and look at chicken feet.  Had I known about it I would not have brought home new chickens without looking first.  It explains why the Araucana's have a problem staying on the dowels that are there for their perch inside the coop.  They both have these bumbles on the bottom of their feet that are big, and make it hard for them to grab on, it makes sense why they rolled off the perch the first night I put them on it.  It really sucks!  I do not want to do surgery on them and have no clue as to what I will do.  Maybe my BIL will be making chicken & dumplings???

Sandy is going to come and look at them and give her opinion of the situation.  I asked her if she'd be my surgeon, I'll help.  My Red Star has a couple of scabs on her feet but nothing compared to the Araucana's.  I think I can fix her and will get medical supplies on the way home from work today and see if I can help her myself.  Then you have to separate them so their feet can heal.   Hmmm, house chickens?   I have the dog cage with a roof and can put the dog cage in the studio with news paper underneath that would be soft for sore feet.  Time will tell in the Cramer world!
