Chicken ER

I went out yesterday to feed the chickens and the Silkies always meet me at their gate and Selena got her foot caught in the chicken wire and finally got loose.  A bit later when I went out, I saw the blood.  She had caught one of her toenails on it and totally ripped it out of the end of her toe.  We ended up setting up a soak, tried to stop the bleeding with flour, and holding pressure.  Finally, I held pressure on the tip instead of on the sides and it stopped bleeding.  I then let it dry good and put antiseptic salve on it and let her go back outside.  All in all it has been a scary week. 
I'm off work this week because my hubby had to have an emergency stint put in and he's not doing "ANYTHING" for at least 5 days...
