April is here!

Time is flying by!  The babies are two weeks old now and growing.  Steve got a good to go checkup and the hospital bills are rolling in.  I about had a heart attack yesterday.  One day in the hospital and his stint there.  $65,000.  Good grief!  Now, that makes you want to eat right!

Spring is here, too.  I'm trying to work in my yard as much as I can.  I still have some spring cleanup to do and some cutting back of bushes and some trimming to do.  I got my front bushes cut back/down but still have several in the back yard to do.

We have come to the decision to take out the pond.  It is a pain to clean, it hasn't been clear in I don't know how long.  I'm tired of spending $100 on it every time the UV light goes out which is every year and replacing the pump at $200 every couple of years and the waterfall leaked and we had to bypass it a couple of years ago.  Maybe the wasps will find another place to hang out now instead of my back yard.  We now have this big empty pond.  The fish are in a stock tank and all the plants are in tucker totes.  I'm going to pot up what I want to keep and get rid of the rest.  I'm going to use the small stock tank for a pond that was our filter.  It will hold maybe 200 gallons instead of 3000 gallons.  I've already had two fish die while in the stock tank.  One jumped out and the other I found floating.  My neighbor is supposed to take them, I need to bug him or just dump them in myself.  He is buying our liner and all the pump stuff from us.

The roses are filling in and putting on buds, daylilies are growing inches every day, I'm looking forward to a yard full of blooms again this year.  We need to till in the garden section still, maybe this weekend.  But won't plant until closer to May 1st.
