Spring cleaning?

Nope not yet here :)  I haven't had time.  I did turn the pellets over in the coop and I plan on cleaning the coop on my days off.  It's not too bad right now.  The Silkie's finally figured how to use the chicken nipples so I took out the water container.  They are funny, I open the back door and they all rush to the fence wanting out.  They are under my feet so I have to watch out for them.  Of course the big girls are always at the corner to see if treats are to be had, too.  They actually fly at the door wanting out when I go by.  They act like they NEVER get out, :) but they do.  Every couple of evenings they get out for a while.

We are planning to add on to the run soon, but have to take out the pond first.  It will be a lot of work with bricks to move and tons of cement and then we have to find some fill dirt to fill the hole.  We then will have to move a lawn sprinkler and add one to the center where the pond is.  Always a work in progress.  We have had ponds for 20 years and are seriously downsizing this time. I started small and went huge and if I didn't have a job it wouldn't be so bad but it is hard to get someone to take care of it and clean the filters while we are gone.

 Chickens are easy, everyone wants eggs so they reap the harvest to feed and water them for me.  Mostly feed since the water containers are on the watering system during the warm months.  I just run a tube to each one and when my yard waters the chickens also get their buckets filled.
