I had/have an abundance of pickles, I planted way too many. The good news is I won't have to plant any next year. We are going to have a great supply of dill pickles, relish, and at the moment I have refrigerator pickles. I made dill relish this week. I had 7 jars but one didn't seal so I stuck it back in the canner. Lesson learned. Warm up jar first, the bottom blew out and we were one jar down. The next batch will be sweet relish and if still producing I'll make some Bread and Butter pickles. I am using the Ball Canning book.
Next, I've read about growing potatoes in a bag, so I started potatoes that were already growing in my bin. I did like I read. I started with a chicken feed bag all rolled down and as the tops grew, I unrolled and added dirt. This is the bag all rolled up except one roll which I'll leave for the strength. It is doing very well, I'm amazed. With the feed bag supply I have I may try a couple of bags next year if they do well.
Caught my wonderful husband sitting on the patio having his coffee. Still in his jammies. :)
