We are having record highs. Our temps have been about 10 degrees above the normal average. The days have been beautiful and I've been out working in the yard. I have my seeds started in the greenhouse and my hubby made a thermostat for the greenhouse. It plugs into my dusk to dawn timer so the power will be on during that time to his sensor but it won't come on until the temps get down to 40. I'm impressed and am looking forward to it working. We haven't had temps that low all week. Unlike the other side of the country we are warm and no snow.
I've been making some cards and working on the chicken quilt challenge. I went to the Cerbat Garden Club meeting this week and if I would have taken my checkbook I would have joined. It was fun and the guest speaker was from our local Cella Winery. He told us all about grapes, how to plant, how to prune, and brought us all a grape cutting in a pot. There were actually two so I redid them when I got home. They will need left in the pots for a year.
I've also began cutting back the stuff on my back fence. It is a tangled mess and I have an unwanted grape that came up that we'll need to dig out. I need to take it all off to get to the Thompson grape and get it cut back. There is free trash dump next week so I'm filling our trailer full of cuttings and we'll take it and get rid of it without driving all the way to the dump.
On Friday night we have been working on a couple of different projects. Marilyn and Sherie both have a broken dishes quilt they are working on and Sherie forgot hers at home so we began a table topper from a pattern she picked up. I made one up this week so I would know how to do it. It is a very cute pattern and is easy. Here is the sample I made up.
