Around the mini Farm

My daughter decided to get rid of her chickens since no one seemed to have the time to feed or take care of them.  She was selling them off.  I decided to take the Polish, Puffhead, and the new rhode island red that they had brought to them that wasn't laying yet.  Meanwhile, mine are all molting and my Polish, Diller, was looking ratty.  My chickens had yet again decided that Diller didn't need any of the feathers on her head and were working on her tail.  I was letting them out every morning so they wouldn't make her bloody.  I had just transitioned them to not totally pick on the new ones when I told my daughter that she should keep the two Polish.  Not a lot to feed and the kids loved them.  So, they worked on their coop and reduced the run size for just two and I hauled both over.  Hers was happy to be home, mine was like, WHERE AM I???  Diller was not happy and very vocal about it.  The little rhode island red is smart and fast and stays high when they try to pick on her.  I've named her Rhoda, Island Red.
My chickens are all molting different this year, instead of all naked, it is parts under that aren't seen.  A naked butt, a naked neck, but all are doing well.
On the goat side, we haven't had any night visitors that I know of, but we do have the electric wire on the fence and I have rocks all along the outside and the bottom wire is very tight so nothing is pushing under.  I took out a yard stick a few days ago and both of them are right at 20" at the withers and at last weight Dakota was at 50# and Dahlia at 46#.  They are absolutely a blast and they love me.  They have settled down from their night fright.
