Burns Springs Hike

We hiked to a small spring that had a waterfall.  It wasn't that hard and it was only a mile and a half round trip.  The hardest thing was on all fours climbing back up the hill.  We hiked past it, we could hear it and we went down a gentle slope and backtracked to it.  Dahlia followed me up the edge of the stream and up to the other side, but Dakota went around so he wouldn't get his feet wet.  When we were leaving Dahlia was up on the edge of the small cliff and she thought we were going to leave her and she scrambled to catch up.
It was Dakota's first time wearing a pack.  I found Nerf Vests and modified them for bases for packs.  I added straps around neck, two around front and back of belly and one around the rear.  I glued strips of floor cushion squares on each side of the spine area so it wouldn't be sitting on his spine and I made pockets out of jeans and I had a bottle of water on each side.  It stayed in place really well and he just stood and let me put it on.
We saw 3 burros on the way in and counted 15 on the drive out.
