Goat Pen & Cleanup

Note all the goat berries in the first batch of photos.  They poop a lot!  Everywhere, just walking poop machines.  The tree branch is from our mulberry.  We trimmed it up.  They then go to the goats for recycling and when the leaves are gone I cut them up into smaller pieces for kindling/firewood.

Every morning I clean the pen, put barn lime on wet spots, cut what ever branches I've thrown in there, feed, water, and love on my goats.  Then I move across to the chickens and check for eggs, top the big pan of water off add food, and this time of year they have a stand up mister I turn on during the day.

We love our brooms and I could use more.

We're both surveying the goat berries.

Put brooms in the pen and she uses the bench to scratch with.

Food on left and minerals and soda on right.

Most of the berries are gone.  This time of year I wet the ground about once a week to make it easier to sweep the berries up.

Mineral blocks.  I got tired of finding them on the ground so I drilled a hole through them and screwed them to the wall.  The top one I got at Tractor Supply and the lower is now half because I broke it during drilling.  It is apple flavored, found it at Walmart.

Alfalfa pellets on left and chaffehaye on right

Their sleeping shelves when it is cold out or when too hot out, but since we added the open porch they go to it during the day.  When the weather is good they sleep on the play area outside.

Baking soda on left, minerals on right.
