These tops have been done for a while but I've been busy. Also my knee has been killing me but I borrowed my sister's TENS machine, wow! Love this, I can at least move now.
So, two baby quilts, my niece in AR is having a baby next month and a young lady I used to work with is due in Jan. I made them the same size, oversized, actually... I then put a 2-1/2" strip between them so I could quilt both at the same time with tension. I also sewed the backings together and just cut all apart when I was done. The only drawback was my batting was about 4" too short so I had to whipstitch another piece onto one side.
First is for my niece who told me first: black & blue, then added deer, then added bears. That was a challenge. I got black fabric with a white deer print and did a million pinwheel blocks with black and blue. I used a green/blue tie die flannel on the back.
My ex co-worker is getting the second which has a nautical theme with red and blue, just an easy snowball block but I put cute whale flannel on the back of it. Both came out really cute.
