We had to go shopping and pick up some pvc parts and hose clamps before our day began but off we went. I cleaned out the chicken coop and turned the wood pellets inside basically a refresher. I found Sylvie trying to make a nest in the coop itself, that would explain the eggs I've been finding inside. She's the last one to lay and I found three eggs inside the coop on the floor instead of in the egg boxes. I found her after I cleaned the coop and I went back in, opened the door, took hold of her and went around and put her in the empty next box. Princess had taken up residence in the far right box so I put Sylvie in the far left box. Now I know Princess is a noisy bird. Doesn't say a peep while she's in the box but as soon as she's out she bellows for all to know that she laid an egg.
While I cleaned the coop, Stephanie painted the outside of the egg box on the little coop and Steve put barrel locks on the doors so I can drop down the sides without the doors opening up. I had to put caulking along the back edge and he has small edges inside the coop. I am using sand in this one and have a very low roost for them. Steve also worked on the feeder and waterer. The feeder is done but the waterer is still in the partway stage.
Tipsy is absolutely fascinated with the chickens and spent the whole time they were dusting watching them. She was even in the middle of the dust a couple of times.
