I went to my little monthly Sunday quilt group last weekend and Lynne from Utah was giving a demonstration on these little quiltlets. They are a hot pad, so you sit it on the table with a hot pan or pot on it. You use a layer of Insulbright inside to reflect the heat from the surface. I decided this would be a cute and easy project for my sister to start with. I had already found a wall hanging but this small piece has piecing, applique, and quilting and gets binding in the end so is perfect and we made one on friday night. I'll rephrase that, I made two and she made one. We liked it so well we are making more this next week. Me? I've now made four of them. I made a pair for a birthday gift and will probably make another set for a second birthday gift before the weekend. I also made a couple of chicken aprons but want to try them on before I make any more of them to see if I have them right.
I also started the ceiling fan blades for Tanya. She brought me six blades from one of her ceiling fans and wants ivy painted on them. I finally decided on a design and got the base coat put on last night.
Have I mentioned my daughters shower is this weekend and I haven't finished her baby quilt? Well, I made a top for her in pink and then they pop on me that they are doing green and blue, hmm, rethink what I'm doing now. So, I have a panel that is primary colors with ballerina's in it and will put a border around it of blue. Need to get that done one night this week because the shower is next weekend. I already made her car seat covers and I still need to whip out some baby bibs for her but that is easy...
