Chick Practice

My chicks in the brooder have served their purpose.  It is now time for me to give them to my neighbor.  They were good practice and I must rehome them soon before I come too attached to them, I really like the yellow one.  But there is that unknown factor of boy or girl. :)  I sexed them by watching the Dirty Jobs Part One Video with Mike Rowe.  There is a part one and part two on You Tube.  I highly recommend watching them, it was very fun and informative and filmed at Murray McMurray where I ordered my chicks from.  I'm fairly sure that there is three girls and one boy.  My neighbor wants a rooster so we will let him have them.  We have the heat right, put more wire over the side where they could stick their heads out.  Yep, that was a quick fix, I looked over and saw a head out and a dog and cat watching so cut a piece of construction screen to put in front of the chicken wire.  I pictured finding a headless chick pulled as far through the wire as it could get so fixed it ASAP.   A couple of pics of them in the brooder.  The first day they slept mostly but the second they wandered around much more.
I will give them to my neighbor this afternoon and sanitize everything for the next batch due in two weeks.
