I guess the chicks were in a hurry to get here. The first one which is yellow and I'm sure is a girl hatched after 19 days. The other three are dark chicks, one came out of a green eggs and the other two came out of white eggs. The last three hatched yesterday about four hours apart. I only saw the third one pecking a hole in the egg and when I went out next it had hatched. The last one I never saw a hole, I even listened to it after the third hatched and heard nothing but in the afternoon when I went out I had a fourth. I am bringing them inside today to the brooder and get them started on medicated food so we can enjoy them for a day before I take them to my neighbor. Making sure he has his brooder ready first of course.
Here are the pictures as I took them yesterday and the day before as I found them. They are so cute! Hopefully this broke her broody spell. She would be a great mama, too, as I was trying to take a picture of the egg with the pip hole, she kept taking it back and putting it under her. But, I can only have so many chickens :) and I do have an order coming in two weeks. This was for fun so the grand kids could have the experience of seeing them as eggs and knowing they do come from and egg. They got to see them in the eggs and after hatched. I know they enjoyed it. Aiden said they are so frigging cute!
